UA&P joins ADB Forum on Responsible AI

 

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) took part in the high-level forum on “Why Responsible AI Matters” held at the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Innovation Hub on May 23, 2025. Organized by ADB in collaboration with the University of Adelaide, the seminar highlighted the inclusive and sustainable applications of artificial intelligence technologies for social good.

Representing UA&P were Center for Teaching and Learning Managing Director Mr. Jason de Villa, Master in Applied Business Analytics Program Director Dr. Ruel Maningas, Master of Science in Management Program Director Ms. Kristine San Juan-Nable, BS Data Science Officer In Charge Dr. Eva Rodriguez, and School of Sciences, Engineering, & Technology Dean Dr. Noemi Torre.

The event featured distinguished speakers Professors Simon Lucey and Anton van den Hengel of the Australian Institute of Machine Learning (AIML), who shared cutting-edge developments and real-world use cases of responsible AI. Their insights sparked dynamic discussions among participants from academia, policy, and industry, reinforcing the importance of ethical and responsible approaches to AI development and deployment.

With this initiative,  UA&P commits to joining ADB's future AI forum and participating in any dialogue to represent the voice of higher education institutions in the pursuit of AI for social good.
